Founded in 1961

The Association for Metroarea Autistic Children, Inc. (AMAC), is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that provides services for people of all ages diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Since 1961, AMAC's goal has been to enable children, students, and adults to reach beyond their current abilities. Through our many education programs and related services, we strive to assist our participants to develop and maintain the skills required to lead fulfilling lives.

All AMAC programs use the Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) methodology, the only scientifically based and state-approved treatment of autistic-spectrum disorders. Our curriculum is developmentally research-based, moving individuals towards independent learning in all settings, including personal and academic, implementing intensive and immediate positive reinforcement systems.
